I really shopped around when looking at crock pots because they are expensive. I had heard mixed reviews all around about the cooking temps on some of these being too high or too low or some models automatically shutting off before they are done cooking or even in some cases the electronics lock up to the point of having to unplug and leave unplugged for an hour...this doesn't do any of that. We've used it about 15 times since we bought it (often several times a week) and love throwing a whole meal in there in the morning and coming home after work to a prepared meal. This is truly a fix it and forget it crock pot! I will leave 2 comments that reference some other bad reviews on here:



1. This thing stinks - Yes, the first time you use it, it does have a weird plastic type smell that even smells in the air as you cook. This smell will go away literally after the first use. Washing it first won't help. It didn't affect the taste of the food in the least.

2. The warm feature is too hot - It is a slow cooker, so when it switches to warm, it doesn't immediately turn off like your oven. The automatic feature of it switching to warm once the timer is done is really cool. It will keep the food HOT, but not boiling. I've left it on warm for about 1-2 hours before because I wasn't ready to eat and it kept it at serving temperature, not cooking temperature. Our old crockpot would let it get too tepid to be considered a "warm" setting.

Oster CKSTBSTW00 Buffet Server, Stainless Steel

We have had ours two months and have used it three times for entertaining guests in our party room. Works as expected. Keeps food very warm to hot, but not so much as to dry them out. We've used for chicken wings, toasted ravoli's, pizza rolls, meatballs, bacon wraped lil' smokies, and more. Worked perfect for these. No reason to think it will not work well for other items. Easy clean up.



We find that the product base is make of very light materials that flex when you move it. The frame surrounding the serving pans is very light material too. Pans are good. Lids are light could easily chip or crack? We worry about durability. I suppose we could have got better if we spent more. For this reason we took away one star from an otherwise great working product.



As you look at other servers be aware that some of them are much smaller although they might not look like it in the photos. Instead of getting one of the ones that were on sale for $30 everywhere at Christmas, we paid a bit more for this one as the servering pans were twice as big. Can be used as a hot plate also.



Edit 10-2013: Used 20 times over the past year and a half. Still in excellent condition. Lids turned out to be just fine. Great product.



EDIT 11-15-2014: Yes, still working, still very satisfied.

Oster Rechargeable and Cordless Wine Opener with Chiller

I was surprised as to how well this item actually worked when we opened and started using it. I purchased this as a 'filler' gift for my wife for Christmas. Knowing that it was a gadjety gift I did not have high expecations. We used this for fun and found out how easy it is to use and how cleanly it removes the cork. It opens many bottles on one charge, although we have not yet tried to prove the box statement correct that it opens 30 bottles on one charge.



Good for a person who struggles with conventional wine openers and breaking corks.



The bonus wine chiller is stylish and functional.

Wilton Mini Cookie Cutter set of 12

These are just the right size to cut out fondant designs. I haven't had any problems with rusting - I rinsed the cutters with water then sat them on a paper towel to dry.



I think the previous reviewer's product rusted because they were placed in the dishwasher - the description plainly states they are not dishwasher safe.

Haven't stuffed'm with booze and gone strolling yet though; that's this weekend. Looks just like a sunscreen container; you'd never know the difference! Booze on my babies!!

REVIEW UPDATE: Have liquor, will travel! I've used these a few times now; 2 different MLB ballparks, California State Fair, and an outdoor funeral... J/K folks; I would never go to the fair! Absolutely perfect; I can't imagine these working any better. Durability update to follow...

Thermos Stainless King 16-Ounce Food Jar, Midnight Blue

This really holds the food HOT. My biggest critics are my kids and they love it. They can finally take hot pasta or soup to school and have a hot meal. But, you MUST follow the instructions. I recommend that you allow the BOILING HOT water to sit in the thermos for a minimum of 15 minutes. Keep in mind you must put piping hot food into the container. The kids tell me that when they open the thermos hot steam comes out and the food is nice and warm. I typically fill the thermos with food around 7:00am and the kids eat lunch anywhere from 12:15 to 1:00 pm. It really seems to work. This was worth the money!
