I bought this 18pc set as my first complete set of pots and pans. I love cooking, and this set has a wide variety of pan selections including 2 steamer baskets. I've been using this set for 2 months now; so far so good.



The instructions say not to use high heat, and I can understand why. If you like to cook with high heat, I would recommend looking into the Ultimate set, to see if the walls are thicker. The walls of the Signature pans are not as thick as I would have liked, but I've had no problems so far with warping. I am not a person to automatically turn the burner up high and leave it. The 'hot spot' is a good indicator of readiness, so start with a medium to medium high flame and watch the red spot (although not all the pans have this).



Some of the reviews said the lids don't fit all the pans, but I have had no problem. My biggest problem with this so far is some of the lids are so close to the same size, it's hard to figure out which one to grab. If you can figure out a coding system for matching lids to pans, you can eliminate this problem. The only other issue I have had with the lids; the overlapping lip seems to be somewhat easy to bend. Be careful, but this so far has had no effect on fit.



The pans clean up VERY easy. Because I don't use a lot of high heat, I can't say anything about burnt food issues. The only problem here is minor issues with drips coming off the outside of the pans once they have been cooked on. The food etc comes off, but there is a spot left behind. I have no dishwasher (except my hands), so cannot comment on this. I am leery of using metal utensils on these types of pans and I have other utensils, so I use them. Check the instructions to see if metal can be used, if you are so inclined.



I have not used these pans in the oven yet, so I cannot comment. The handles on the pans and lids seem to stay cool. I have not had to use potholders, even on the double handle roaster pan. The steamer insert handles seem to stay cool, even though they are not coated (the steamers are stainless steel).



The 18 piece set seems to be an overall good value for everyday use. If you don't do a lot of cooking, you can get away with the smaller set. If you have a family and/or cook a lot, this is a god useful set of pots and pans which will give flexibility and convenience to your daily cooking adventures
