The Culina measuring cups are made from heavy-duty stainless steel that's virtually indestructible in normal use. The wide handles are easy to grip, and the sizes (cups and milliliters) are engraved clearly on each cup in characters about 0.15" high, so there's no mistaking which cup you're using. The edges of the cups have been polished, so there are no rough edges. The set of six cups weighs 15½ ounces. That's a lot of steel, but it makes the cups strong enough that dropping one onto a hard floor won't even dent it. In fact, even using both hands, I couldn't bend one.
I checked the accuracy of the 1-cup and 1/4-cup sizes. Filling each one completely full to the rim with water and weighing them, they appear to hold about 5% more than the stated volume. This is close enough, since the volume of the stainless steel cups will vary slightly with the temperature, and with most recipes, the volume isn't that critical anyway. But to be most accurate, I recommend filling liquids to about 1/16th of an inch below the rim. And if you do fill liquids all the way to the rim, the little handle opposite the big handle lets you hold the cup with both hands, making it less likely you'll spill anything.
This is a fine set of measuring cups, far nicer and more durable than the aluminum and plastic ones that I've had in the past. Take care of these, and your great-grandchildren could be using them one day.
The Culina measuring cups were provided to me for evaluation. I did not agree to post a review, but I stated that if I did review the product, it would be an honest, unbiased review.
