I am a pharmacist and ordered two of these mugs as gifts for co-workers (a pharmacist and a pharmacy student). Both mugs came well-packaged in a cardboard box with a clear plastic front that you could gift wrap if desired. Unfortunately, I had to exchange one of the mugs because the words on the "label" were so badly smeared and crooked that they were illegible. The mug also had a sizable chip out of the bottom edge. The other mug looked fine except for the label being slightly crooked. However, it was not very noticeable so I decided to keep it. Amazon replaced the damaged mug immediately, and while the replacement mug is much better, it is still not good quality. The bottom edge is very rough and I worry that it will scratch any surface it is set on. These mugs are definitely cute and a great gift for the drug-pushers in your life, however, the quality is not consistent.

I needed an 8" for omelets, I love this. 8" good for 1 egg ok for 2 egg Omelet, 10" good for 2 egg ok for 3 egg Omelet. New cooking info at bottom.

I copied this from the FAQ page on All-Clad website, the best cookware in the world;

20. What are the differences between All-Clad and Emerilware?

All-Clad bonded cookware is made in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. All-Clad offers the best in professional cookware and utensils, for an ultimate cooking experience. Emerilware is the result of the successful collaboration between All-Clad and chef Emeril Lagasse, and offers high-quality colorful and authentic cookware. Emerilware is made in China.

New info, alot simpiler then what I had before.

Extra info: for Stainless Steel cooking which is very non-stick if done right. Never cook with higher temp. than 1/2 throttle, I usually dont need that much heat. Dry heat pan long enough. When you drop water on it, and it sizzles the pans not ready yet, the pores are opening and closing. When the water just rolls around evaporating slowly the pan is ready to cook on, get used to the warm up time. For eggs add a little oil, I prefer Coconut oil because its very healthy. For meat and Bacon, oil is your choice but not nessecary, it will stick at first so dont try to move it. After a few minutes it will release, if a little brown is left stuck to pan the heat was too high, but no problem scrape and fresh oil before the eggs go in.

Clean up is easy, a scrubbing sponge works nicely. Discoloration, and burnt resin usually on the bottom flame side, I use "Bar Keepers Freind, Cookware" about once a week

I am unaware of the coating peeling off or rusting as some of the previous reviewers mentioned. I can only say that since these are not all stainless steel, wash them with a sponge and soapy water and dry them right after. I wouldn't bother using any type of abrasive sponge since you would damage the finish.

If you are having any trouble cooking the egg properly, here are a few tips. Use a non stick pan. You have to coat the ring with butter (as directed in the instructions). Also, put the buttered ring on a pan first and let it heat up, then crack the egg into the ring. After the egg cooks for about 3 minutes, lift the ring up to let the egg fall out. Then flip the egg over to cook the other side. If the egg sticks to the ring while trying to flip, shake the ring a tiny bit and it will fall right out.

CUSTOMER REVIEW

review

I was going to buy one of the “StufZ Burger Press” (as seen on TV) for $12.65, but after reading the reviews, I kept looking. I settled on the Cuisinart because of the reviews, the brand name, and the price. I got 2 of them – one for my son-in-law.

This product is solid, sturdy, and easy to use. After making a few burgers, I think the directions are incorrect. The process says to put 1/3 lb meat into the cup and press the top (with the press cap detached) into the cup to produce the bottom part of the burger that has the indentation into which you add whatever stuffing you want to use. Then “…flatten about 1/6 lb of meat and lay over your filled burger.” Attach the press cap to the top and press down on the stuffed burger.

I bought a package of 4 ea, pre-formed, 1/3 lb, angus 85% lean beef patties at Walmart. I also picked up a block of feta cheese and a jar of Wickles “Hoagie and Sub Relish”. I cut some of the feta into a ¼” dice.

I jammed one of the 1/3 lb patties into the cup and pressed down with the top as far as it would go. The flange on the top stops its travel into the cup at the correct height. The cup overflowed. 1/3 lb. is too much. 1/3 lb = 5.33 ounces. ¼ lb = 4 ounces. 1/6 lb = 2.66 ounces. That’s a total of 8 ounces, or ½ lb. – Unless your meat is much more dense than mine, there’s no way to get ½ lb meat AND stuffing into this press.

I suggest:

1. Although the material is non-stick, spray a little PAM onto the press parts before using.

2. Start by making the TOP of the burger. Put 3 oz into the cup and press with the lid cap attached. That should get you a flat thin top for your burger. Remove it and set it aside.

3. Put 4 oz into the cup and press (with the lid cap detached). That should make the bottom of the burger with the well for stuffing.

4. Remember that you’re going to be cooking meat – and probably to not much more than 145-150 degrees. You may want to pre-cook your stuffing. Onions, mushrooms, garlic, etc.

5. Add the stuffing. NOT TOO MUCH – only to the top of the well. You can use the slider cup as a gauge –it holds about ¼ cup and you want a little less than that.

6. Put the 4-oz. patty (from step #3 above) in the cup and after reattaching the lid cap, press to form the complete burger.

7. Sometimes (often) you have to finish the sealing of the top with your hands/fingers.

8. With 18” snow on my deck, I skipped the grill and preheated a cast-iron skillet in a 350 degree oven. Brown both sides of the burger (2-4 min/side) in the preheated pan over medium heat then return the pan to the oven for about 15 min.

9. At the desired doneness (check with an instant read thermometer) remove from the oven and allow them to rest a bit.

So, spray a little PAM, use less meat, form the top in the press, cook your stuffing, finish in the oven (or indirect grill heat).

p.s. - I also doctor the meat with ground parmesan, seasoned salt, dried garlic, dried onion, cumin, and A1 steak sauce.

This filter was a snap to install, and once I did my water pressure from the dispenser was back to normal. If you've

got a refrigerator that uses one of these filters and the water's been coming out slow then it's probably time for a new filter. One word of advice: use a big water pitcher for the first use of the dispenser after the filter change - the pressure has to readjust and it will spit out a few huge blasts of water that will overwhelm your normal water glass. After the couple of big blasts though, you get constant good pressure, better than you remembered was even possible after the gradual slow down with your old filter.

review

When using these k-cups, my Keurig would stop brewing about 1/2 or 3/4 through the cycle. When I would remove the k-cup and put the cover back down, it would finish. When I compared these k-cups after this would happen to what I usually use (Green Mountain Decaf), it looks like the hole punctured in the tops of these was larger. So the foil cover must be different.

I gave these three stars because I was able to get a cup of coffee from almost each k-cup, and the flavor is good. I have had problems with other k-cups (Tully) blowing up in my machine and giving me a cup of grounds. But because of the glitch, I wouldn't buy these again or recommend them.

review

I own several Lodge cast iron products and use them everyday. I have 3 teeneage boys that enjoy cooking, and after they destroyed a few teflon coated pans, I decided I would go heavy into cast iron. These pans are indestructible. You can use them in the oven or stovetop, and if you keep it seasoned properly food will not stick. Also, to avoid sticking problems, you may want to remember to allow the pan to get hot before applying oil or food.

As to seasoning, the Logic line now comes preseasoned. But don't make a big deal about this. To season a cast iron skillet simply coat it lightly with oil and bake it for a half hour or so. I have also seasoned these skillets on the stovetop. Cast iron is also great because it does not easily scrap like stainless steel and aluminum pots. Aluminum pans are painful to me, as my teeth fillings react to the aluminum. With cast iron, you won't have this problem. I also take my Lodge pan camping and set it right over the coals to cook. No melted handles or scorched bottoms to mess with.

review

Contrary to some of the reviews here and pics; I tested this scale (the 17.6 lb edition) with standard 50g, 100g, and 500g weights (bought on Amazon).

After taring the scale, it read exactly 50g, 100g, 150g, 500g, 550g, and 600g with the appropriate combinations of the above weights. At 650g, it wavered between 650g and 651g as if it were detecting some value in between (i.e. 650.5g).

For reference, 650 grams = 1.43 lbs. So, from my testing, I would consider this scale accurate to within 1 g up to roughly 1.5 pounds (680.4 g) and from this data I'll estimate a 1% - 1.5% error. For my purposes, that's pretty darn good!

I tried to take pics, but my iPhone won't show the digital readout in the pics. Hope this helps. It's a VERY nice looking scale btw; looks super slick and cool.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?) Pros:

1. The silicone blade is just the right stiffness. Firm, but still flexible. The silicone spatulas at Williams Sonoma are thicker and softer, but yes, more $$$$.

2. The colors are cool! I love them all but the green one. That is the one I gave to my mother-in-law and she was delighted. We both were both made happy from one purchase!

3. Great Shape! Having a flat side and a curved side on the blade is quite useful when baking, scraping bowls, or just stirring a pot of soup.

Cons:

1. I TOTALLY agree with Dave that these should come in multiple sizes! Who needs four identical tools, even if they are all different colors! Give two to your mother in law during the holidays.... I'm stingy - I only gave her one.

2. WARNING - grey handles are not strong enough! I make lots of cookies and thick batters. I always use my spatulas to stir and mix....but I'm now down to two spatulas because the grey handle snapped when I tried to mix the chocolate chips into my oatmeal raisin cookie dough. For soups and liquids, these are fine. For stiff dough, NO WAY! They are about half as strong as the wooden handle on a Williams Sonoma silicone spatula.

I have been using the Mr. Coffee BVMC-FM1 20-Ounce Frappe Maker for quite some time, but have always wished that I could have something warm for winter. I did purchase a hot chocolate maker, but wasn't really happy with it. Back to Basics CM300BR Cocoa-Latte Chrome 32-Ounce Hot-Drink Maker it is very nice for a crowd, but not so great for one person.

So this particular item has made a big hit in my kitchen. It is easy to use, easy to set up, and I can use my own ingredients and have as many lattes as I want. The only problem I have had so far is that I have had to buy more milk ... I was making too many lattes.

As you will see in the video, the pot contains its own heating element. There are several things to consider. First, it automatically shuts off and never burns the milk. At the same time, it can't be cleaned in the dishwasher (although I never clean my coffee pots that way), and second, if the pot is broken, it cannot be cheaply replaced. So there are both good points and bad points.

In the video, I use the Torani Sugar-Free Syrup, Chocolate, 25.4-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3) which I actually purchased from Amazon in a Gold Box deal last year. I put in one tablespoon, but if you prefer a sweeter latte, you can use a package of equal or two tablespoons. You can also use "real" chocolate, but as a diabetic, one of the key reasons I enjoy my own makers, besides saving money, is being able to make my own choices.

Besides the chocolate latte I made in the video, I have also made a number of recipes that were included. The pumpkin spice one was awesome. I had purchased one at a local shop the morning my machine arrived, and I found this one to be much better. I used the pumpkin pie spice and a tablespoon of pumpkin, plus a package of Equal, along with the milk.

When the snowstorm hit, I made hot chocolate, using the heat and froth setting, and made an awesome hot chocolate. I made a double, and after I finished my first cup, I hit froth and heat again, and had another perfect cup!

In fact, I have learned that I might as well make two cups when I start, since I always go back for more. Since the pot does not remain heating, the milk doesn't burn, and a quick "heat and froth" warms it quickly. Because of the milk, I wouldn't leave it sit for long, but I tend to drink my first cup pretty quickly.

Now that it is cold, I am grateful for the ability to make my own WARM drinks. While I've only had this one a short time, my Frappe maker has lasted through nearly two years of usage, so I anticipate this one will last a long time as well.

The video will show you exactly what this machine does, so if you are a coffee gourmet, you can decide if this is the kind of machine you want in your kitchen.

For those who are concerned about cleaning, I normally wipe it out with a soapy sponge right after I use it. If I want a deeper cleaning, I put a dab of dish soap in it and put it on heat and froth ... it cleans up beautifully.

EDITED ...

While unpacking, I ran across something I used to use for a similar effect, but had long ago forgotten. If you aren't quite ready to splurge on the price of an entire machine, you might want to consider the Aerolatte Milk Frother, Satin. This little gadget will froth your milk, or combination of coffee and milk, or any other combination, and runs about 1/5 of the price of the latte maker. Plus it fits in your drawer.

While I enjoy the convenience of having the machine (turn it on, come back), some of you might want to consider the frother itself. It is identical to the one in the machine.

CUSTOMER REVIEW

review

We always kept two boxes of these on hand as replacements when we used our Brita filter pitcher (we went to an in-line because we drink so much filtered water --we'd go through 40 gallons in no time, but that is a LOT of water.) There are three "gotcha's" on these filters to be aware of:

1. Do not let the filter dry out. When the pitcher is empty, you should refill the reservoir right away. When the pitcher is full or partly full, the bottom of the filter is in the water and keeping moist.

2. The filter needs to be soaked and flushed exactly according to directions. Some of the charcoal packing comes off in the flushing process, and if you don't take care of it, you will have specks in the water. This is no big problem, just something to be aware of.

3. Never put overly warm or hot water through the filter.

If you follow the directions, you will have, as we did, gallons of water that cost a lot less and taste as good or better than the water you buy in plastic containers in the supermarket.
