Read reviews before I bought. This coffee is sweet (but not overly sweet) and does remind me of something you can purchase at a gas station. Normally when I drink coffee I add sugar and creamer. With this, I can drink as is. Even my husband, who is not a coffee drinker, enjoyed it. If your looking for a strong cup of coffee, this is definitely not for you. I will be purchasing more in the future.

I bought this pan seeking a replacement for our aging traditional non-stick pan. I didn't know much about the company, but the reviews seemed solid. I will add to the solid reviews. This pan is well constructed and works as advertised. It has a good heft, heats evenly, and holds its temperature well. The textured bottom does not impede the non-stick properties. I can't say I notice a marked improvement over a smooth bottomed PTFE-free pan, but it doesn't hurt.

A note to those who find the non-stick properties disappearing in your pans. This happened with a previous PTFE-free pan I had used. If you look carefully and run your fingers (particularly around the bottom circumference) you will notice a sticky film. This seems to be a build up from excess oil not cleaned off well. By this point it will be extremely sticky and hard to clean off. With some serious elbow grease, I was able to clean this off. The pan is as good as new. I haven't had the build up occur with this pan yet, but I recommend cleaning thoroughly after each use to avoid the sticky build up.

Boy, this is a hard pan to find! Since Amazon.com did not have this item in stock, I contacted T-Fal to see if it was still available and where I might buy it. Here's the reply that I got from T-Fal:

========================================

We received your e-mail via T-falUSA.com, and we thank you for your interest in our products.

========================================

I ended up buying it from shopko.com since Amazon did not have it in stock. The item that I ordered (and received) is the exact part number that was reviewed by Cook's Illustrated.

All I can say is that Cook's was right. This pan has amazing non-stick properties. I've been using the pan for several months now on a daily basis (I'm on a carb-restricted diet, so I eat fried eggs for breakfast every morning) and the non-stick properties of this pan are simply amazing. No sticking. Clean-up is a breeze. I'm VERY satisfied with this pan and will not hesitate to purchase another when this one wears out (hey, nothing lasts forever).

Have had this coffeemaker for a few weeks and am extremely pleased. Very simple to operate, makes super hot coffee and love the idea of making a pot or just a mug/travel mug. The single serve side utilizes Senseo pods which are quite good and easy to find in my grocery store. You can also use non-pod coffee so options are limitless. It took me a lot of time to find the perfect coffeemaker for my household - some of the reviews are scary (flooded kitchens). I absolutely love this coffeemaker - and since I can also make just a cup of very hot tea, this has everything I could need.

I use a lot of paper towels for anything from wiping down counters to wiping down kids. These are the most durable I've used but are soft enough that they don't scratch skin. I like the selectable size so I don't waste a big towel on a small mess.

This is a great scale, it is well-designed and it is a bargain. I was looking for a scale:

1) Has an auto power-off function LONGER than 1 minute. This one turns off in TWO minutes instead of ONE. Gives me extra time to prepare for the ingredients (I mostly use the scale for making chocolate, it takes time to weigh sticky glucose and invert sugar.)

2) Runs on AAA battery, rather than those expensive Lithium button battery. This scale requires three AAA batteries, and they are included, PERFECT!

3) Sleek design, it looks great on the counter. It's very slim, and the white tempered glass top looks nice. It has a fairly large weight area, and I think having the LCD screen on the side, it is easier to read.

4) The scale not only has the usual zero/tare function, it also works as a clock, timer and shows room temperature.

I strongly recommend this scale.

CUSTOMER REVIEW

review

Over the years, I have purchased hundreds of items from Amazon, and for the most part, got what I expected. I never reviewed any of them. But from the moment I received my Instant Pot, I felt that I had purchased something that not only exceeded my expectations, but will make my life easier (and more delicious)!

I am a holistic nutritionist and a follower of a lower carb/paleo/primal lifestyle (and yes, it is not only a food regimen, but a lifestyle). Many of the meals I prepare require advance planning and preparation, and I am OK with that, realizing that it is an investment in my family's health and wellbeing. I was looking for something that would support my food choices and perhaps make it a little less time-consuming. I have used a crockpot extensively over the past years and while I appreciate the ease of use and the ability to put a meal on the table soon after I got home in the evening, there is that "everything tastes the same" factor I was running into with my family.

So I began thinking about ways to cook my meals faster and realized that a pressure cooker may be the answer. But, I am scared of pressure cookers. Even though my head tells me that people have been using them for many years with no problems, my heart said there was a strong chance I could blow up the entire kitchen, myself included. I had no idea there were electric, programmable pressure cookers out there that would virtually eliminate that worry until I began researching them, first on Amazon, and then on other websites. I eventually purchased the Instant Pot over the others because of the stainless steel insert (no aluminum), the size of the pot (I wanted a larger capacity), and the ease of use.

The day it arrived, I plugged it in and began reading the manual. The manual was very helpful, even included a suggested trial run to familiarize one with the basics. My first meal was potato soup (I know potatoes are not low carb or paleo, but once in a while you gotta have potato soup). I was amazed at how easy and delicious it was to make this soup that would normally take a couple of hours. I just coarsely chopped the vegetables, threw those in the pot, added the seasonings and the liquid, started the pressure cooker option, and in 20 minutes all I had to do was use my immersion blender to puree the soup, add some cheese, stir and it was ready to eat. AND the soup was every bit as good as my slower version that keeps me tied to the kitchen to stir and monitor until it's done. That is the hidden beauty of this appliance, that while it's cooking your food, you are free to do other things such as harass your kids to get their homework done. No more watching over a pot!

My second recipe was lemon pepper chicken wings. There is a searing option, so first I browned the wings in a bit of butter, then added lemon pepper, salt, and 2 more tablespoons of butter. Put on the lid, set the pressure cooker for 25 minutes, and out came the most delicious, fall-of-the-bone wings just loaded with flavor. The family went wild!

I also made mushroom gravy (no flour) pork chops in 30 minutes in the pressure cooker - the gravy was so good my son ate in on top of some gluten free noodles the next day for lunch - and a breakfast meat loaf in the slow cooker, also a winner.

I am also using this to reheat food since we don't use the microwave anymore and I'm finding that it seems easier and makes less of a mess than going stovetop.

That's a pretty long review for a first-timer but I am so enthusiastic about this product that I just had to share.

CUSTOMER REVIEW

review

I purchased this set about six weeks ago am very pleased with it to date. I enjoy cooking and cook most meals "from scratch," rarely relying on anything pre-packaged for a meal, so these pots and pans get a workout on a daily basis. Since purchasing them I've cooked dishes from oatmeal to pork tenderloin, squash soup to rice pilaf.

The set is good looking, the lids fit perfectly, the pot handles are comfortable to grip even with a full pot (much better than my one Calphalon pan). In my kitchen, if it isn't dishwasher safe, it is evicted, and these pots and pans do just fine in the dishwasher, unlike the aforementioned Calphalon. The pans are satisfyingly weighty, yet well balanced and the long pot handles stay cool to the touch (unless they are too close to another burner or the oven vent). The lid handles do get hot, but I always have a potholder handy.

Cooking: I find the cookware is very responsive to my gas range; the pans conduct heat very efficiently and it is essential when using these pans to keep that in mind. I recommend starting with a lower temperature than you think you need and increasing the heat if necessary until you become accustomed to the way the pans respond to heat. The pans heat very evenly, I've successfully melted chocolate with no burning on the lowest heat setting, and rice cooks perfectly at a low simmer with the lid firmly in place. I prefer these over non-stick pans when sautéing, these pans allow good browning which leaves yummy bits behind for deglazing into a sauce; these pans perform well in that capacity. The rolled rims mean liquids pour driplessly from the pan, a feature I find extremely valuable. The entire set is oven safe and I find that also an excellent feature. You can quickly sear a pork tenderloin and then pop the skillet right in the oven to roast it to perfection. One less dish to clean, all the cooked-on bits in one pan to deglaze.

Cleaning: I have not had any problems with cleaning the pans after use. Following the manufacturers recommendation, I add a little water to the warm pan and leave it to soak in the sink during dinner. Then the pan is loaded in the dishwasher with the rest of the dishes. Occasionally food may stick around the rivets, but the dishwasher usually takes care of that with ease. The manufacturer suggests avoiding citrus dishwashing products so I do. The mirror like finish is beautiful, but this is actually my least favorite feature of the set. Fingerprints and water spots show up readily. This in no way interferes with the cooking value of the set, but if you are concerned with the way the set looks, this is a flaw. If you must have it, a quick wipe with Barkeepers Friend or Cameo polish will restore the mirror finish.

The set includes a 1-1/2- & 3-quart saucepan, 8-quart stockpot, and 10-inch skillet. Lids for the saucepans and stockpot are included. I received the bonus 2-quart sautee pan with my set which has proved very useful. I would have preferred a 12 inch skillet to the 10 inch but even so I find the set an excellent value. I saw no need of an 8 inch skillet which is why I chose this set instead of the 10 piece set. I hope Cuisinart will be adding to the open stock available in this line. I have the 16-quart stockpot with steamer basket and pasta insert, but would love to find a pasta insert and steamer for the 8 quart stock-pot.

I think this set is an excellent value, and will satisfy me for years to come treated with a bit of care. I am replacing a set of Copper-bottomed Revere Ware my mother received as a wedding gift in 1950 (and used daily until she gave them to me 20 years ago), and I am hoping these will last as long, if not longer.

Worth the price. Best looking nonglass wine glasses you can find. I purchased for use inside or outside, just for extra glasses. I have every kind of wine glass possible, but for those evenings when your friends are inside and outside and there is a lot of activity, they are perfect. Especially for our cabin, since we entertain a lot.

They feel like glass and are not too flimsy like some reviews. Come on it's plastic and trendy too.

The weekend I bought them, saw them in an expensive home decor store, smile.

What I like most, the design. If Napa Style sells this glass design, their HOT.

The glass is 4.5" tall. Good size...

review

The Granite Ware 21-Quart Covered Preserving Canner with Rack is a light-weight, lidded pot with a steel canning rack. As promised, the rack holds seven quart jars and with a little ingenuity, it can hold nine pint jars.

This canner is larger than most burners and may cause stovetop surface stains when used for extended periods. It cleans easily, holds the temperature and seems well constructed for such an inexpensive piece.

The graphic on the Amazon product page shows the canner with the rack lifted up and supported by the edge of pot. I was a tad nervous about lifting seven filled quart jars but the rack, though light-weight, was up to the task.

The only issue I have is with the height. To immerse seven one-quart jars with two inches of water above the lids means splashing or overflow will happen. I found no work-around for this problem but, for someone like me whose needs are limited (about 100 jars per season) this canner is a great addition.

If storage space was limited in this household, I would have an additional issue with the size of the canner. That's not a problem for me but it could be a consideration.

For those considering purchasing this as a stockpot as well as a canner, look elsewhere. The steel and enamel coating are too thin for anything beyond boiling water.

I am glad I made this purchase, it suits our purposes well.

Just got one before Thanksgiving and have been using it every day as I do a ton of cast iron cooking (ok I cook almost everything in cast iron - as well as restoring the stuff). I really wasn't sure how I'd feel about this as I've used plastic, steel, and other types of scrub brushes to clean iron and get off the sticky bits for years.

So when I say I'm impressed I really mean it. This is the easiest method of scrubbing cast iron that I've yet found, and it works well on stuck on food on my steel pots too. Wouldn't have thought it was going to be good. It pretty much glides over a well seasoned finish without damaging it and removes debris from the surface easily. My feeling is that this one well designed product - thought out rather than slapdash made, easy to maintain and clean and a joy to use.

Even though it's a lot more expensive than some other types of scrubbers it looks like it won't need to be replaced for years.

I own several Lodge cast iron products and use them everyday. I have 3 teeneage boys that enjoy cooking, and after they destroyed a few teflon coated pans, I decided I would go heavy into cast iron. These pans are indestructible. You can use them in the oven or stovetop, and if you keep it seasoned properly food will not stick. Also, to avoid sticking problems, you may want to remember to allow the pan to get hot before applying oil or food.

As to seasoning, the Logic line now comes preseasoned. But don't make a big deal about this. To season a cast iron skillet simply coat it lightly with oil and bake it for a half hour or so. I have also seasoned these skillets on the stovetop. Cast iron is also great because it does not easily scrap like stainless steel and aluminum pots. Aluminum pans are painful to me, as my teeth fillings react to the aluminum. With cast iron, you won't have this problem. I also take my Lodge pan camping and set it right over the coals to cook. No melted handles or scorched bottoms to mess with.

This is great thermometer that I use for making soap. It shipped quickly, came with batteries, and was easy to use right out of the box. It has some useful features like memory storage and emissivity sensing, i.e., surfaces that are painted or shiny may give a false reading. I don't use this very much as water and oil are within the preset range and I don't have to mess with any adjustments. I just point and shoot, couldn't be any easier. I have tested this against a standard glass and mercury thermometer, numbers were right on the money. Highly recommend.

CUSTOMER REVIEW

review

I just cooked a thick ribeye steak using this grill. It's the first thing that I have cooked on it. Similar to a cast iron frying pan that I have, this generates a lot of "smoke". I had to take the battery out of my smoke detector, and open windows. I think I cooked it at a slightly higher temperature than I needed to. If smoke is a problem, think twice about buying this.

The result is the best steak I have ever cooked indoors. It beats any electric grill I have ever used, and it beats the George Foreman grill hands down. I would say that the results are almost restaurant quality. I look forward to cooking hamburgers within the next day or so.

I think this would work better with slightly less thick cuts of meat. Even at high heat it took longer than it would have taken on a grill. During the cooking I put a metal lid over the pan to control splattering.

I think it will be a breeze to clean. Oiling it after cleaning, with the ridges, will be a little more work than for smoother surfaces.

Because the ridges are so high, the grill does a great job of cooking away from the fat, and probably (my guess) does even a better job than the George Foreman grill in that regard.

Pans like this pay for themselves. This pan is about the cost of a dinner for two, and it will result in less eating out.

Update: I cleaned the pan after making the steak. It was more difficult to clean than other cast iron pans due to the ridges, however, I think I need to find a different tool to clean it with. Someone recommended a grill pad or brush. Also, I usually put the pan over enough heat to evaporate any water from cleaning, and then apply a thin amount of oil. This was also harder. I think it will get better with practice. In any case, the results were worth it.

I will be trying burgers and pork chops soon, so stay tuned!

Update: I cooked pork chops tonight on this grill, and they are the best pork chops I have ever had in my life. I let the pan heat up, and usually also have the electric burner on high heat when adding the meat. I then turn it down a bit. The cast iron doesn't cool off, and it sears the juices in. I have found that a metal cover over the grill works well to keep in splatters and heat. Another thing that is helpful is a temperature fork, which told me tonight that the chops were at 180 degrees, otherwise I would have overcooked them.

This is by far the best money that I have spent on cooking equipment, and it will definitely save a lot of $$$ because I will treat myself to excellent home-cooked meals more often.
