Product Description

Ever wonder what it'd be like to cut pizzas with a rocker blade like the professionals at the pizzeria? Get food sliced in one fell scoop with Culina 14" x 3" Stainless Steel Pizza Cutter Wooden Handle (Beech) is designed for commercial and every day users in mind. No need to work for a pizza establishment, you too, can confidently use it to slice, chop and mince!

Steel meet wood design. Precision cut. Multipurpose

Culina Pizza Cutter cuts uniform slices in one quick rocking motion. Traditional knives pull the pizza apart, slice unevenly; roller wheel cutters tend to "smoosh" the crust, trap and drag cheese, sauce and toppings off the pizza.

Avoid the frustration, get Culina rocking cutter: its heavy duty design (3" large at the curve) adds a touch of rugged yet stylish appeal to your kitchen décor all the while boasting a performance to rip through a deep dish pizza crust.

Not just pizzas: cut soap bars or sandwiches, chop herbs, produce, meat or mince garlic and nuts! Scoop ingredients up thanks to the large blade surface.

Heavy duty, stainless steel construction. Built to last

Don't be fooled by the aesthetics, Culina Pizza Cutter boasts a full frame, 3" stainless steel sheet with a thick, wooden structure at the top to form a reliable, non-slip, comfortable grip handle. Rigid enough to withstand the firm pressure, it provides heft and balance to push down effortlessly on the food. Many with arthritis have raved about its extreme ease of use.

The sturdy, ultra sharp tapered blade ensures a clean, uniform cut with full efficiency every time. Its size spans the length of the pizza and only requires a no-strain, easy rock movement to get the slicing done! Mess-free! Engineered for heavy duty use, it won't bend, warp or dull easily on you. A tough-built for longevity and great value. Suited to professionals, families, perfect when hosting pizza parties!

I received the Walnut Handle version, but being identical in all other respects, I shall share my experience here as well under the Beech Handle.

Oh yes, I do know pizza cutters, having been a manager of a pizza restaurant for many long years. When my mother began regularly making her own pizzas a few years back, I had often wished to get a pizza cutter for her, but never got around to it. All this time, she has been using the typical cutting wheels, which are alright... but you just can't beat a good rocker in terms of straight cut lines and quickness. (If you ever seen a pizza place's cut table during Super Bowl Sunday, you know EXACTLY what I mean!)

This cutter is a bit shorter in length in light of what I was commercially used to, as well as less in weight and blade thickness, yet we had to deal with a vast range of sizes and (of course) mega-quantities. Generally speaking, most home baked pizzas probably won't be bigger than 12", and this rocker fits the bill nicely between length, balance, and a lovely wood handle. The curvature is on par with what I remember from my restaurant, the rocking motion bringing back memories (some not so nice :P ), and the blade is sharp out of the box.

The two minor drawbacks are:

a) There is a hook hole in the blade, but I have to say it seems placed a bit far down, 1 7/8" from the edge, to make it a bit puzzling how one should hang this without something like a magnetic wall strip or resorting to a 16 penny nail in the wall.

b) A even more minor one, and this is a purely situational thing, is getting my mother to hand-wash the blade instead of chucking it in the dishwasher like she does everything else. Frankly, although I meant this to be a part of my mother's household, I may have to keep this puppy at my place for my own, but rarer, home-baked pizzas. At least then I know it will get the treatment and blade care it deserves. As economically priced as this may be, this cutter should still be cherished.

I will post a video of some pizza cutting action once I get a suitable (and delicious) test sample. ;)

-- I received this as a complimentary review product with the aim of hopefully elucidating features and drawbacks that may help you ultimately decide what fits your needs and budget best.
