I bought this for $17 at my local supermarket of all places! Thought it was a great deal after looking at online prices almost double that. Used it right away and discovered the major flaw is that it has 3 concentric ridges around on the edge supposedly to make it versatle for all sizes of tortillas. The concave center area with dividing ridges is only 6" across. That means that you can only fill the center 6" of your toritilla and the outer 1 or 2 inches is just "sealed". An 8 or 10 inch torilla will fit on the grill, but if you put filling beyond the 6" mark, it will not close so you end up with a soft "steamed" quesadilla.

PROS: It was well made, got hot quickly, and crisped up the tortillas (after I removed some filling so I could latch it closed, and it cleaned up very easily.

If you want 6" quesadillas, go for it. If you want larger quesadillas try one that doesn't have the "fits any size" sealing ridges. The one that Nostalgia Electrics makes appears to be designed specifically for 8" tortillas, so I'm going to try that one. (Also it's priced right.) Most of the other ones on here don't show images of the inside plate so it's hard to know about the ridge pattern on those.

We love quesadillas and I'm tired of making them in my fry pan. Hope this next one works well!
